Recognition of Service Award for Michael Harney, Athlone, Co Westmeath
Minister Dara Calleary & Deputy Robert Troy made a surprise visit to Michael Harney of Athlone just before Christmas to honour his outstanding service to the Party.
Michael has been a member of Fianna Fáil for over 60 year, having first become involved while living in South Roscommon and working closely with Brian Lenihan Snr.
Throughout his many years of party activism, Michael has always been on hand to canvass, leaflet drop, take up church gate collections or look after the constituency office, or indeed any task which has been to the benefit of the party.
Michael’s loyalty and commitment to Fianna Fáil over the course of his adult life has been completely unwavering and for that we, as a Party, will be forever grateful to him, and to his wife Marian.
