In the month of March, Robert went on a trade mission to India. Some of you may be wondering what is a trade mission and why are they important?
A trade mission involves travelling to another country to promote trade between two countries and also to promote our values of democracy, cooperation and collaboration. Many Irish companies trade and do business across the world.
Similarly we have many global companies establish in Ireland. Trade Missions are important to maintain relationships and are vital to build on existing partnerships and seize opportunities to grow trade in both countries.
The trip was a great success and he had the honour of meeting Irish and Indian companies who have contributed to the growing trade links between our two countries – in the past 10 years trade has tripled to €5.5bn.
The future is bright for Ireland and India’s relations with these innovative and forward-thinking teams and businesses.
