Troy welcomes anomaly scan budget for Mullingar

Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy has welcomed confirmation from the HSE that approval has been granted to cater for full 20 week anomaly scans for all expectant mothers at Mullingar Regional Hospital. In a letter to Deputy Troy the HSE confirmed that an application from the hospital for a Clinical Specialist Radiographer has been approved and will form part of the 2018 budget at the Midlands Regional Hospital. “I am very pleased that the HSE have provided this funding to maternity services in the area. The 20 week scan is so important in terms of ensuring the normal development of the child and I have long argued that it is a resource which should be offered to all expectant mothers rather than just in certain cases” commented Deputy Troy. “We are all aware of the great service which Mullingar Maternity Services provide and the addition of a fully trained Clinical Specialist Radiographer will enhance these services further.” Concluded Deputy Troy
