Following on the last two year’s chaotic starts to the SUSI grant system, Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy is set to hold a SUSI information evening next Monday the 30th of June at the Youth Cafe in Columb Barracks at 7.30pm.
“I held a meeting last summer which was attended by many concerned students and parents who were simply bewildered by the system and their entitlements. At least by the end of the evening they had clear ideas on what to expect and how to move forward with the system”.
“I am inviting all Students who want to avoid the headaches of last year in relation to college grants to attend this very informal meeting and bring any documentation or queries that they might have. Speakers are to include the vice president of the Midland region, Student Union of Ireland, Mr. Kevin Donoghue and the Education officer at Athlone Institute of Technology Mr. Kevin Ronan. Both speaker will be available to answer any question or queries you may have about accessing funding to attend third level education.
“I and my two speakers will be in a position to advise students going to college this year on how to get their SUSI grant applications through in a manner that will head off some of the headaches that bedevilled last year’s process”. Concluded Deputy Troy
