Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport Robert Troy TD says the industrial action planned by Ryanair workers for Thursday should be deferred pending the outcome of negotiations.
Deputy Troy added that Ryanair must ensure passengers impacted by the industrial action are rerouted and compensated without delay.
Deputy Troy said, “The news that management and unions are set to meet tomorrow morning at a neutral venue for negotiations is encouraging. There is a reasonable case to be made for the industrial action planned for Thursday to be deferred pending the outcome of these negotiations. The negotiation teams now need to be given time and space to reach a deal.
“Regardless of the outcome, Ryanair must ensure passengers impacted by industrial action are rerouted and adequately compensated. There should be no unnecessary delays in helping passengers make alternative arrangements,” concluded Deputy Troy.
