As a member of the Transport Commitee I was delighted to arrange with my colleague Senator John O’Mahony for this group to present to committee today. This project is a vital piece of infrastructure for development of the north west region and something we will continue to push for.

I was delighted to be part of the relaunch of Mullingar town’s dedicated website which was re-launched at an event in the Market House in Mullingar recently. The new website will act as a  focal point for anyone visiting the town, as well as businesses or companies who are considering locating to the town .

Mullingar is a wonderful town, with a very strong community spirit, a vibrant music and arts scene, excellent shopping and beautiful lakes. The website was developed to showcase all that is great about Mullingar and to market the town and attract inward investment.

Mullingar.ie was set up by a working group of local business people . To get the very best from this positive initiative, we all need to get behind it and support it. We have to work together to support the work that is going on to support the businesses of the town. Without that support, it simply won’t work.

Well done to the Mullingar Town Team, Mullingar Chamber and the business community of the town.

Lets give our support to the new look, newly relaunched brand , ‘Mullingar.ie’ and show the world how good our town is.

Troy outlines Fianna Fáil Health priorities

Local Fianna Fáil general election candidate Robert Troy has outlined the party’s health priorities for the next five years. Fianna Fáil is proposing an additional €1.3billion of investment in services in a targeted programme directing resources where they are needed most. “The current crisis in health services is based fundamentally on five years of failed Fine Gael policies and an obsession with managing the media rather than managing the health service. The first thing we'll do is to end Fine Gael's damaging changes and return the emphasis to investing in public health services,” said...

Fine Gael/Labour Govt has let down older people – Troy

Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy has blasted the outgoing government for the way they have treated older people. “Despite their claims to have protected older people, the actions of Fine Gael and Labour tell a different story. “There has been a raft of cuts and measures that have directly affected the incomes of older people. Older people have seen a hike in prescription fees, changes to the eligibility criteria for medical cards, removal of telephone allowance, and reductions in the vital Household Benefits Package, the abolition of the Bereavement Grant and the introduction...
