As a member of the Transport Commitee I was delighted to arrange with my colleague Senator John O’Mahony for this group to present to committee today. This project is a vital piece of infrastructure for development of the north west region and something we will continue to push for.

I was delighted to be part of the relaunch of Mullingar town’s dedicated website which was re-launched at an event in the Market House in Mullingar recently. The new website will act as a  focal point for anyone visiting the town, as well as businesses or companies who are considering locating to the town .

Mullingar is a wonderful town, with a very strong community spirit, a vibrant music and arts scene, excellent shopping and beautiful lakes. The website was developed to showcase all that is great about Mullingar and to market the town and attract inward investment.

Mullingar.ie was set up by a working group of local business people . To get the very best from this positive initiative, we all need to get behind it and support it. We have to work together to support the work that is going on to support the businesses of the town. Without that support, it simply won’t work.

Well done to the Mullingar Town Team, Mullingar Chamber and the business community of the town.

Lets give our support to the new look, newly relaunched brand , ‘Mullingar.ie’ and show the world how good our town is.

Traffic congestion highlights need for repeat of Operation Open City – Troy

- Garda traffic operation last in use in 2014 - Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport Robert Troy TD says heavy traffic congestion across Dublin City highlights the need for a dedicated joint operation between An Garda Síochána, the National Transport Authority (NTA), the National Roads Authority (NRA), Dublin City Council and transport providers in the run up to Christmas. Deputy Troy said, “Increasing traffic congestion has been a growing problem throughout the year, but it has become particularly acute in the run up to Christmas.
