Longford Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD, Robert Troy, has commended the Gardaí in Westmeath for their efforts in controlling and intercepting crime in the locality. Central Statistic Office (CSO) figures which were released last week reveal that Westmeath’s crime rate is at a steady decrease. Fianna Fáil TD for Longford Westmeath, Robert Troy, has criticised moves by the Government to cut medical cards for as many as 20,000 people throughout the country. Legislation that passed through the Dáil last week has provided for 20,000 people to lose their medical card in exchange for a free GP visit card.
